LINEUP: Greg Attonito, Pete Steinkopf, Bryan Keinlen, Shal Khichi
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT: Combo of two EPs and other tracks, this first full length release from the NJ punk scenesters is somewhat on point – snotty and funny without being contrived.

SOME WORDS, PHRASES AND CLAUSES ABOUT THIS RECORD: A punk band with a definite love of the 80’s, the Bouncing Souls don’t take themselves all that seriously but do love a nice hardfastrules sound.

There’s some cleverness in “These Are the Quotes from Our Favorite 80’s Movies” and a cover of “I Want Candy” but a couple of tracks really fall flat, especially their cover of “I Know What Boys Like”.

The originals are all good example of poppier hardfastrules punk that was ‘sweeping’ the nation at the time. Ok, one band was sweeping the nation. But tracks like “I Like Your Mom” were influential for later punk smartasses.

NOTES & MINUTIAE: They had released four EPs before this album, but only two of the EPs were used in compiling it..

IS THERE A DELUXE VERSION: No.

GRADE: B: It’s harmless hardfastrules pop punk party music.
